Heavy rain and hailstorm batters Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday, leaving a trail of destruction that included smashed car windscreens, damaged solar panels and broken tree branches, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel.

According to details, heavy rains have once again started in the three tehsils of Khyber district, Bara, Jamrud and Landi Kotal accompanied by strong winds and dark clouds.  Due to hailstorm, windows of car have been broken.

Rain and hail have broken the heat and turned the weather pleasant. Heavy rains are threatening to cause flooding and landslides in canals. Vehicles are being diverted from flooded roads on the Pak-Afghan highway. Hailstorm damages crops and the district administration has advised citizens to take precautionary measures.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued a high-alert warning for possible severe flooding in the Kabul River and its tributaries for next two days amid forecasts of heavy rainfall in the region.

According to PDMA, a strong westerly wind system is expected to enter upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by tonight, significantly increasing the risk of flash floods, particularly in low-lying and riverine areas.

District administrations across the province have been directed to take all necessary precautionary measures, while residents and farmers living near the Kabul River and its connected streams have been urged to remain vigilant.

The PDMA has also instructed Rescue 1122 and Civil Defense teams to stay on high alert. Sensitive areas should be closely monitored, and emergency equipment is to be installed in flood-prone zones. Authorities have also been asked to remove any obstacles from roads to ensure smooth emergency response and evacuation if needed.
