Prices of life-saving drugs up by 25pc in Karachi

The prices of life-saving drugs have increased by 25 percent in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

The price of enterogermina, a drug for diarrhea in children, has increased by Rs400 to Rs1,200 while that of the CT scan injection by Rs3,000 to Rs8,000.

The price of Humulin, a drug for diabetes, has increased from Rs970 to Rs1,255 while that of the MRI injection from Rs3,500 to Rs4,170.

A card of Panadol tablets is being sold at Rs50.

On the other hand, several drugs have gone scarce in the financial hub of the country.

A shortage of drugs for epilepsy, diabetes, TB, etc. has been observed in the city.
