Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar withdrew his resignation after a meeting with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, sources in the PPP said, as he also shared his grievances with the party chief, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
Khokhar, who was serving as the PPP chairman’s spokesperson, had announced last week that he was quitting his role; however, he was leaving the party. But the reasons behind his earlier decision were not clear, triggering speculation in political circles and media.

According to the sources, the issue had already been settled after telephonic conversation with Bilawal twice, but he did convey his reservations to Bilawal during the meeting.
Khokhar had announced his decision to resign in a tweet, saying he would stand by Bilawal through thick and thin. “In my years as his spokesperson, have given counsel with honesty, sincerity and in the best interests of the country and the party,” he added.
I have resigned from the position of spokesperson to the chairman, not from #PPP. Will stand by BBZ through thick and thin. In my years as his spokesperson, have given counsel with honesty, sincerity and in the best interests of the country and the party.

In a separate tweet, Khokhar had apologised to “friends in party, media and otherwise who were concerned and couldn’t take their calls or reply to their messages. Needed time to think over things.”
