PM consults Ch Shujaat over likely dissolution of assemblies

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Sunday agreed that political stability and close cooperation are necessary to get the country out of the problems being faced.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, Shahbaz Sharif visited the residence of senior politician Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in Lahore and inquired about his well-being.
Federal Ministers Tariq Bashir Cheema, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan were also present in the meeting.
PM Shehbaz Sharif and Chaudhry Shujaat also discussed the political situation of the country. The prime minister apprised the veteran leader about the efforts regarding the restoration of the economy and the provision of relief of the people.
Ch Shujaat appreciated the sincere efforts of the prime minister to get the country and people out of problems.
The two leaders agreed to make mutual cooperation effective and stronger.
Pertinent to note that the meeting was held with keen interest as PTI chief Imran Khan had announced the dissolution of the assemblies in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on December 23.
The ruling parties are concerned over the decision and has geared efforts to stop the move. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also convened a meeting of the party to discuss the matter.
The allied PPP has also decided to summon a meeting and discuss the future course of action over the decision announced by the PTI chairman.
