Fawad Ch laughs off opposition’s long march talk

Taunting the opposition parties for their planned ‘long march’ on Islamabad, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry said on Friday that not to speak of a ‘march’, the opposition parties could not even walk, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.  

The minister was of the view that governments could not be changed through the tactics being employed by the opposition right now. “In order to bring about regime change, parties must have an ideology; they must have the support of masses,” he said, adding that it’s a pity that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman brought seminary students with him to participate in the march. “Is this the way, the governments are sent packing,” he questioned?

Fawad said he wondered how could the opposition parties table a no-trust move in the National Assembly when members of their own families did not ‘trust’ them.       

He went on to add that the end of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif’s politics was near. 

He also said he was sure that PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif would not be able to escape punishment in corruption cases against him by making ‘lame’ excuses.

Information minister advised both PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz to first contest the election for the seat of a mayor before dreaming of becoming the country’s prime minister.
