New Zealand’s fast bowler Kyle Jamieson will miss the rest of the season and the upcoming test series against Australia due to a stress fracture in his back, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to New Zealand Cricket (NZC), Jamieson, who had surgery last year for a similar injury, is not expected to return to action until next summer.
He said he was grateful for the support he had received from his partner, family, teammates and staff.
Jamieson had played a key role in New Zealand's win over South Africa in the first test earlier this month, but was ruled out of the second test due to back pain.
The Black Caps clinched the series with a seven-wicket win in Hamilton on Friday.
New Zealand Cricket said Jamieson would only need "rest and rehabilitation to give the injury the best chance to heal".
