Accountability Court defers Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi indictment in 190m pounds reference

The Accountability Court in Rawalpindi could not proceed with the indictment of Iman Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the 190 million pounds reference case Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The court accepted Bushra Bibi's plea for exemption from appearance and adjourned the hearing till tomorrow.
The hearing was conducted at Adiala Jail where Khan is under judicial custody.
His lawyer Shoaib Shaheen informed the court that a petition challenging the 190 million pounds reference was pending in the Islamabad High Court and requested a postponement of the indictment.
He said that the petition was mistakenly assigned to a single bench today and could not be heard. He added that the petition would be heard by a division bench tomorrow at 12:30 pm.
Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir agreed to defer the indictment and adjourned the hearing till tomorrow.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was represented by Deputy Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi, Amjad Parvez and Irfan Bhola. Latif Khosa, Shehbaz Khosa and Barrister Gohar also appeared for the accused.
