The Peshawar High Court (PHC) declared the nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Shehram Tarkai and Atif Khan valid so now they can contest elections.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the larger bench of the Peshawar High Court pronounced the reserved decision on the petitions against the candidates on Wednesday.
The PHC dismissed the petitions against the approval of Shahram Tarkai and Atif Khan's nomination papers upholding the decisions of the Election Tribunal.
On the other hand, the PHC disposed of the case of PTI leader and former minister Azam Khan Swati on his statement of not contesting the general election on Wednesday.
Azam Swati's lawyer informed the three-member bench of the PHC headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najfi that his client has withdrawn his petition and he decided not to contest elections.
