PMD predicts more rains in various parts of country from July 19

Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued an alert about new spells of rain in different parts of the province during the current week, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
It stated that Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Regional Meteorological Center Peshawar informed that monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are likely to penetrate in upper and central parts of the country from 18th July (night) which are likely to intensify on 19th July.
Under the influence of these weather systems, rain/wind-thundershower (with heavy falls) are expected in Kashmir, (Neelum valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur), Gilgit Baltistan (Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar), Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Kasur, Mianwali, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar, Okara, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, D.I Khan, Bannu, Karak and Waziristan from 18th (night) to 23rd July with occasional gaps.
Rain/wind-thundershower is also expected in Barkhan, Loralai, Kalat, Khuzdar, Zhob, Lasbella, Awaran, Musakhel, D.G Khan, Rajanpur, Multan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Kot Addu, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, Larkana and Jacobabad from 19th (night) to 21st July with occasional gaps.
Likewise, dust-thunderstorm/rain (with isolated heavy falls) is likely in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, and Dadu districts from 19th (evening/night) to 23rd July.
Dust-thunderstorm/rain (with isolated heavy falls) likely in Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad, Sanghar, Badin, Thatta, and Karachi districts from 20th to 22nd July with occasional gaps.
The PDMA has also highlighted the possible impacts of the new rain spells as heavy rain may cause urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala, Lahore from 18th (night) to 22nd July and may trigger landslides in the vulnerable areas of Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the period.
Farmers are advised to manage their activities keeping in view the weather forecast.
Tourists and travelers are advised to remain extra cautious to avoid any untoward situation during the wet spell.
Dust storms/wind-thunderstorm may damage loose structures like electric poles, and solar panels.
The general public is advised to stay at safe places during wind-storm/heavy rains
The Authority has advised Deputy Commissioners of the concerned districts to take precautionary measures to avoid any human and material losses during the rain period.
The PDMA's control room is fully operational and people have been advised to contact it on helpline 1700 in case of any emergency.
Hot and humid weather is likely in most plain areas of the country on Tuesday (tomorrow), the Meteorological Department said.
However, rain wind with thundershower is expected in Kashmir, Pothohar region, Northeast Punjab, and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Meteorological Department, East Baluchistan, and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to receive rain with gusty winds and thundershowers.
Weather in Islamabad will remain hot and humid and heavy winds and thundershowers are expected in Islamabad in the evening or night.
Similarly, the weather will remain hot and humid in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In the evening or night, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds and thunder in Peshawar, Kohat, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Abbottabad, Balakot, Mansehra, and Kurram.
Likewise, the weather will remain hot and humid in most districts of Punjab.
Light rain is expected in Murree, Galiat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Narowal in the evening or night.
Rain with strong winds and thunder is also expected in Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, and Okara.
The department predicted that the weather will remain hot and humid in most districts of Balochistan.
In the evening or night, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds and thunder at a few places in Barkhan, Kalat, Awran, and Khuzdar.
Identically, the weather will remain hot and humid in most districts of Sindh, Meteorological Department said. There may be a drizzle in Karachi and its surroundings. Kashmir is expected to remain partly cloudy with gusty winds and thundershowers, the Met Office said.
Heavy rain is also likely in a few places in Kashmir. Gilgit-Baltistan is expected to be partly cloudy with light rain, Meteorological Department concluded.
