US blogger Cynthia Ritchie has challenged in the Islamabad High Court the verdict of a lower court that ordered Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to register a case against her, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Cynthia Ritchie said in her application submitted in the IHC, “I did not commit any crime. Prevent the FIA from filing a case against me.”
Earlier, on Monday, a lower court in Islamabad ordered the Federal Investigation Agency to register a case against Cynthia Ritchie who has levelled rape and harassment allegations against senior PPP leaders.
Additional District and Sessions Judge (ASJ) Jahangir Awan directed the FIA to register a case against the US blogger on a petition filed by PPP Islamabad President Shakeel Abbasi. The petition stated that Ritchie had made baseless allegations against ex-prime minister Benazir Bhutto and a case should be registered against her.
