The newly appointed Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faez Isa has refused to take guard of honour, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The Islamabad police were supposed to present a guard of honour to Chief Justice Isa. His predecessor retired Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial was presented guard of honour by the federal capital police after he assumed the charge of his post.
But the newly appointed Chief Justice Isa broke away from the tradition. He reached the Supreme Court in his own car without protocol.
On reaching the office, he held a brief talk with the court staff, telling them that their cooperation was necessary. He told them that today he didn’t have time as he would be busy in meetings and there was a full court proceeding going to be held in a bit.
Justice Isa told them that he would soon hold a detailed meeting with them.
He advised them to keep the court doors open for complainants as people do not come to the Supreme Court happily, they come to resolve their issues. He asked the staff to help the justice seekers.
