Adviser to Prime Minister on Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah has said the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) is a part of the federation and its leadership must act responsibly while discussing national issues.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, he stated that both Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif instructed the party leadership to resolve all inter-provincial matters through dialogue and mutual understanding.

“We believe in fair and equitable distribution of resources, including water, among all federating units,” he asserted.

He stressed that there should be no room for politicizing water-related issues, especially when a legal framework like the 1992 Indus River System Authority (IRSA) Act is in place. “No province’s water share can be diverted to another under the law. The IRSA Act ensures justice and transparency in resource distribution,” Sanaullah added.

Responding to recent concerns raised by PPP leadership on water distribution, Rana Sanaullah maintained that he holds the party's leadership in high esteem but urged all stakeholders to uphold their constitutional responsibilities while making public statements.

“Constructive criticism is always welcome, but it must be grounded in facts and respect for national institutions,” he added.

The adviser further emphasized that all issues should be resolved through dialogue at the negotiation table. “We believe that the strength of provinces contributes directly to the strength of the federation. This guiding principle will continue to shape our governance,” he remarked.

Rana Sanaullah added, “We have never compromised on public rights and will not do so in the future. Our commitment to democratic norms and institutional harmony remains steadfast.”
