In a major development, the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab has summoned three former MPAs of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on August 19 (tomorrow) in corruption cases, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

Former provincial assembly members Muhammad Latif Nazar, Bilal Asghar Warraich, and Ashifa Riaz Fatyana are included who have been summoned by the ACE Lahore circle in corruption charges.   

The anti-corruption agency is currently conducting a thorough investigation into allegations of corruption against these ex-legislators.

According to a spokesperson of ACE, Latif Nazar has been summoned on the charge of taking bribes in the approval of housing colonies during his tenure as Chairman of the Faisalabad Development Authority.

 Latif Nazir gave illegal approval to three societies including Bilal Orchard, Green Orchard, and Dr City.

The Anti-Corruption Establishment also sought the records of all the housing colonies approved during the tenure of Latif Nazir from the FDA.

The spokesperson further stated former MPA Bilal Asghar Waraich has been accused of charging more than the government-approved rate in the slaughterhouse. “Bilal Asghar used to extort money from the owner of every animal through frontman Asghar Nawaz, the spokesperson said adding that Bilal Asghar is also accused of taking 10% commission from contractors in development works of his areas.

Similarly, former MPA Ashifa Riaz is accused of taking a huge commission in the construction of a sports complex in Kamalia.

All the members of the Assembly have been summoned to Anti-Corruption Faisalabad at 10 am tomorrow.
