Cut in electricity tariff proposed

The federal government has decided to slash electricity prices as part of fuel price adjustment for the month of November, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to details, Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has submitted a request in National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) seeking 64 paise per unit cut in the cost of electricity. CPPA filed the request to reduce price of electricity for the month of November in fuel price adjustment.
NEPRA will hear the Central Power Purchasing Agency's application on December 31, 2024. After the hearing, the notification to reduce the electricity prices will be issued by the government. Power companies, including LESCO, will provide relief to customers in January 2025.
