Two engines of the Boeing 777, which has remained grounded for the last over one year, reached Pakistan on Thursday as the PIA has sped up work on making two planes in its fleet operational for flight purposes, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Quoting its sources, 24News TV channel reported that besides Boeing, the other plane was Airbus 320.
They explained that Boeing was a 440-seater plane, and the airline had decided to use it for flight operations to Europe and to Saudi Arabia for Hajj purposes.
The plane will leave for Paris on January 10.
Sources informed that the number of functional planes in the national flag carrier’s fleet would increase to 18 after the addition of a Boeing and an airbus.
PIA officials, on the other hand, have expressed the hope that with the addition of two planes, the airline’s income would increase.
