Dr Qammar Khalil of Faisalabad Agri University dies of coronavirus

A senior member of Faisalabad Agriculture University breathed his last due to coronavirus on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Dr Qammar Khalil was deputed as a medical officer at the dispensary of the university. He passed away at the Allied Hospital where he was under treatment after falling ill.
Dr Qammar was the eldest son of an educationist Prof Khalil Ahmed. Born in 1967, he graduated from Punjab Medical College in 1990-91 and served in different departments of medicine including neurosurgery. He served in the local area throughout his life. He was currently serving as medical officer in the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.
During the current pandemic of COVID-19 fighting as a frontline soldier, he was affected with coronavirus on June 4, 2020, and embraced Shahadat today.

According to the data released by National Command and Operation Centre on Friday morning, the coronavirus death toll in Pakistan has climbed to 3,229 as the country reported 136 new deaths during the past 24 hours (Thursday).
The same period saw the number of cases reaching 165,062 with the addition of 4,944 patients from different parts of Pakistan.
The pandemic is proving to be deadliest in Punjab where another 63 people died of the virus after which the number of deaths in the province rose to 1,265. The number of cases, on the other hand, has increased to 61,678 during the same period.
