Govt considering deployment of Rangers, FC in Islamabad

As the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is preparing for its November 24 protests, the government is reportedly considering deployment of Rangers and FC personnel in the federal capital Islamabad.
According to sources, the federal government has decided to take strict security measures ahead of the PTI’s protests. Sources say the federal government has requisitioned 9,000 Rangers and FC personnel for deployment in the federal capital ahead of PTI’s protests. The government has requisitioned FC and Rangers troops with complete anti-riot kits.
The federal government has reached out to relevant departments for deployment of paramilitary troops in the federal capital.
Islamabad Police have sought the services of Rangers and FC troops from November 22. The services of 5,000 Rangers personnel and 4,000 FC personnel have been sought to maintain law and order during the PTI’s protest.
