Issuing notices to the secretary interior, chief commissioner, Islamabad, inspector general of police (IGP), Islamabad and secretary National Assembly (NA), the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday sought replies from them in the case of arrests of PTI MNAs from inside the Parliament House, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Later, IHC Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Aamer Farooq adjourned the case’s hearing for 10 days.
The IHC had last Thursday declared an anti-terrorism court’s (ATC) decision to remand the PTI MNAs in the police custody null and void.
A division bench, headed by Chief Justice Amir Farooq, heard the petition filed by PTI MNAs through Barrister Qasim Nawaz Abbasi.
The petitioners argued that their arrests were unlawful and unconstitutional.
After hearing the arguments IHC sent the PTI MNAs to jail on judicial remand.
Several PTI MNAs were taken into custody, including some from inside the Parliament House, after the party’s rally at Sangjani, Islamabad on September 8 at which controversial remarks were made about the state institutions.
