The Punjab government has announced an innovative scheme to distribute e-motorbikes to 20,000 young individuals across the province.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, emphasizing the government's commitment to public safety, stated: "The safety of the people is the responsibility of the government."

She also highlighted the importance of wearing helmets for safe travel.

The distribution of these environmentally friendly e-bikes is set to commence in May this year.

In a bid to alleviate financial pressure on students, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz revealed that the down payment for these electric bikes would be PKR 25,000, with a manageable monthly instalment of less than PKR 5,000.

Furthermore, a special initiative will be rolled out for students who have excelled academically, offering them an opportunity to receive these bikes.

During a ceremony in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz addressed the importance of labour safety, stating that "the safety of labour is the responsibility of all of us," and urged that safety regulations should move beyond paper and be actively implemented in workplaces.
