Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday pledged the timely completion of ongoing projects and emphasized the need for continued efforts to ensure the efficient delivery of healthcare services to the masses, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

Following the inauguration of the Institute of Cardiology's expansion project in Multan, Mohsin Naqvi shared updates on various healthcare projects with the media.  

He also shed light on the current developments and future plans in the healthcare sector.

"As we continue our work, a new government is on the horizon, and they will address the remaining issues," assured Mohsin Naqvi.

 Naqvi said that the Nishtar-2 project is in its final stages. The construction and rehabilitation of one ward of the Nishtar-1 project is in progress, then there will be 12 wards, added by Naqvi.

Additionally, he highlighted the ongoing renovation and development of medical, OPD, and emergency wards at Multan Children's Hospital, revealing plans for a new pathology lab equipped with modern equipment.

He said that funds were allocated for the refurbishment of the old block at Children's Hospital and the establishment of the semi-automatic ward. Mohsin continued that work is also progressing on the medical gas system and infrastructure improvement in the emergency department. Naqvi acknowledged the transformation of the Children's Hospital's emergency section into a state-of-the-art facility.

He also highlighted the government's initiatives to improve healthcare facilities across Punjab, ensuring accessibility to resources for the public.

"We are utilizing available resources to serve the people," affirmed Mohsin Naqvi, addressing the challenges posed by fluctuating medicine prices and assuring citizens that efforts are being made to maintain a steady supply.

 Commenting on the status of the Institute of Cardiology, Naqvi commended its transformation, citing the completion of the 200-bed expansion project, including 150 indoor and 50 outdoor beds.

He acknowledged the influx of patients from Balochistan and southern Punjab, emphasizing the construction of a 154-bed hostel, scheduled for completion in December, to accommodate their families.

 Later, Mohsin inaugurated the OPD and indoor block of Institute of Cardiology Multan’s expansion project.

He also laid the foundation stone for the construction of a 152-bed hostel for the attendants of the patients at Multan Institute of Cardiology.

The CM also announced the upgradation of the cardiology center and increasing the number of beds from 60 to 120. He directed to complete Cardiology Emergency Upgradation Project by mid-January 2024.
