An foreign company has not paid parking fee of its plane parked at the Sialkot International Airport for the last five years, reported 24NewsHD TV on Sunday.
Reportedly, a Boeing 767 plane belonging to a Thailand company, Jet Asia, has been parked at the Sialkot International Airport for the last 5 years. During this period, the amount of the parking fee has been increased so much that it has exceeded even the cost of the aircraft.
When the SIAL authorities contacted the Thai company for parking fee, the company switched off its number.
Then, the SIAL authorities moved to the court and secured an auction order for the Thai company’s plane.
The Sialkot Airport authority has fixed December 12 for the auction of the plane.
The bidding will start with a reserve amount of US$1.2 million.
The SIAL authorities said that the Thai company plane has been parked at the abandoned airport for five years. It was a cargo plane used for the military aviation purpose. It made a sortie to Pakistan five years ago but never returned.
