The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Thursday arrested a suspect in Faisalabad who threatened to kill Maryam Nawaz, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The incident took place during the election campaign of NA 108 where Imran Khan was contesting by-polls against PML-N’s Abid Sher Ali.
The accused threatened to murder Maryam Nawaz in case the government arrests former premier Khan during a corner meeting in the presence of former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Qasim Suri.
The video of the incident went viral and PML-N leader Talal Chaudhary also held a press conference in this regard in which he claimed that fearing defeat, PTI workers had resorted to violence.
However, PTI chairman Khan later won the election with a huge margin on October 15.
Talal also said action should be taken against Imran Khan as his party worker has extended life threats to PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz.
Talal also shared a video showing an emotionally charged person threatening to kill PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz if PTI Chairman Imran Khan was arrested illegally.
In the video clip, the man standing by Qasim Khan Suri said he had told his family that he would not spare Maryam if Imran Khan was arrested illegally.
