Nepra urged to hike power tariff by 55 paisas per unit

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has petitioned the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) for hiking the electricity tariff by 55 paisas per unit, which would result in burdening the consumers by another Rs8.37 billion, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The CPPA has sought the raise in power rate in connection with monthly fuel adjustment for the month of September 2023.
The Nepra will take up the CPPA plea on November 1.
The proposed raise in electricity price if granted will not be applied to the consumers of K-Electric.
