The contentious issues between the Tareen group and the PTI have sorted in an amicable way as the members of JKT group ironed out their differences with the government in a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, reported 24News HD Tv channel.

The pro-Tareen group comprising Syed Akbar Niwani, Ajmal Cheema, Nauman Langrial, Umar Aftab, Zawar Warraich and Nazeer Chauhan held a meeting with Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at CM House on Friday.

JKT group parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly MPA Syed Akbar Niwani reposed his group’s trust in the leadership of CM Buzdar, saying that ‘you are our chief minister and we have come down here to resolve our issues between us’.

Niwani said ‘we were united and we will remain united’. He said PTI was their party and their support for the party was unconditional.

The chief minister said his doors were open for all. He said they were all united under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said he never did injustice to anyone nor would he intend to do it. He said he did not believe in the politics of revenge.

Buzdar assured the members of Tareen group that their reservations would be removed. He said his party’s name is Tehreek-e-Insaaf (Justice Party) and ‘we believe in the implementation of justice’.

Buzdar issues orders

To remove differences of Tareen group, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar issued on the spot orders.

It has been learnt that the group members will receive development funds. Bureaucracy will help resolve all lawful issues being faced by the pro-JKT group members.

The group will support the government in all matters including budget approval. It will also follow discipline and will abstain from indulging in any controversial conversation during talk shows.

It has been decided in the meeting that government would appoint a deputy secretary to resolve JKT group’s issues

The deputy secretary would liaise on daily basis between members of Tareen group and CM Punjab regarding the resolution of the problems in the respective constituencies of the JKT members.

Media talk

Talking to media after his meeting with CM Punjab, Niwani said the CM promised that no injustice would be done to Mr Tareen.

In a very veiled manner, he reminded that the JKT group was a reality. He said it’s not the nature of the prime minister to unduly favour anybody.

Niwani said in their meeting with CM, they discussed the budget and CM promised to provide maximum relief to the people. He said the group had only one demand that justice should be meted out to Mr Tareen.

Mr Chauhan said they would wait and see if CM Buzdar would fulfil his promise. He said the meeting proved that PTI was a democratic party.

Mr Langrial said that the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere. He hoped that Tareen would be provided justice as was promised by the premier.

Earlier, 24News TV channel reported that Jahangir Khan Tareen group seemed to be getting along with the PTI government, as the JKT group leader while taking a U-turn dispelled any talk of fissures within the party ranks.

Talking to the media in Lahore before meeting CM Buzdar, Tareen group’s nominated parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly MPA Saeed Akbar Niwani said there was no rift within the PTI ranks. He refuted any impression of sitting on the opposition benches in the Punjab Assembly. He said they had not requested the Speaker for allocation of separate seats in the provincial assembly.

Niwani said the pro-Tareen group never intended to damage the PTI government. He insisted to resolve the differences within the party while remaining part of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf.

He was of the view that there are always difference within the party which should be ironed out after due consultations. He categorically rejected the idea of parting ways with the PTI reiterating his stance that they were still part of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf.

Yesterday, Chief Minister Buzdar spurred his efforts to woo provincial parliamentarians in the face of the looming threat of Jehangir Tareen’s like-minded group that might enact a split in the ruling PTI.

In an effort to bring around the members of the provincial assembly, Chief Minister Buzdar has opened the CM office’s doors for the MPs. As many as 50 Punjab assembly members met Buzdar

The chief minister has reserved his time exclusively for the MPAs from 10am to 11am. The provincial lawmakers could meet the CM without any appointment during this time.

During his meetings with the MPs, Buzdar made it clear that there was no question of revenge politics and added that he had always taken along all the members of the assembly. He said that all government decisions were taken after the consultations with the MPs.
