The Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) has allegedly embroiled in a visa scandal as a strange case of clearing exit visa cases of the Chinese companies and others has come to light in the Interior Ministry, reported 24News HD TV channel.

Sources revealed to 24News HD TV channel on Tuesday that a retired employee of the PAEC and his accomplice had been caught using a ‘classified computer’ in the Interior Ministry.

Sources further divulged that apart from cases of the Chinese companies working with the PAEC, several other illegal clearance cases of the exit visa were detected.

The PAEC provided access to one of its employees to the Interior Ministry computers in the name of “sensitive data”.

The PAEC a retired employee kept using the Interior Ministry computers to clear the visa exit cases.

Despite the fact that the visa scandal was extremely sensitive, the Interior Ministry has entrusted the investigation of the scandal to a section officer instead of a senior officer.

Sources said after the revelation of the visa scandal, different questions had arisen as to which officer allowed the use of sensitive computers in the Interior Ministry and how long it had been going on? 

Sources said that the PAEC was asked to provide details of the original cases and the visa branch employees who were involved in the racket were also suspended.

The 24News has the name and designation of the retired employee of the PAEC involved in the scandal but are not being revealed at the request of the concerned authorities.
