The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Rawalpindi, following the apex court’s directions, is set to initiate the process of reclaiming historical properties of the city from illegal occupants on Sept 21, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a significant move, ETPB Rawalpindi has communicated with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), seeking its assistance in retrieving possession of two key properties, 'Damdama Mandir' and Lal Haveli, Bohar Bazaar. These historical properties hold cultural and historical significance and have long been under the occupation of unauthorized individuals.
Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad’s family is considered illegal occupant of Lal Haveli.
To ensure a smooth and orderly retrieval process, the ETPB has also reached out to the district administration of Rawalpindi and law enforcement authorities. They have requested security cover and magisterial support during the operation to prevent any potential disruptions to law and order.
This initiative aligns with the Supreme Court's directives.
