Punjab CM Maryam tasks police to stop street robberies

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Thursday gave police the task to stop the incidents of street robberies immediately, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Presiding over a special meeting to review performance of police, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered to ensure safe travel on roads.
The Chief Minister directed to bring down the crime rate in every district in any case.
The CM further ordered to initiate action to eliminate hotspot areas in every region of Punjab.
Maryam Nawaz said in order to protect the traders and shopkeepers, the incidents of robbery should be dealt with iron hands.
Robbery and other crimes on the roads of small and big cities are absolutely not acceptable, Maryam Nawaz Sharif said.
She said every road and street of Punjab should be made safe and no one should dare to commit crime.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said in case of robbery and crimes on any road, the concerned police officers will be responsible.
Women and children are red line and crimes against them should be stopped at all costs, the CM instructed.
Performance report of police officers was presented in the special meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
In the meeting, KPI were also reviewed to evaluate the performance of police officers.
Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Home Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal, IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, Additional IG and other officers were also present in the meeting.
