ECP tribunal okays PPP’s Palwasha Khan, MQM’s Dr Shahab's senate papers
Tribunal rejects appeal of MQM Rauf Saddique and Khizar Asghar Zaidi

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Karachi tribunal head Justice Agha Faisal heard the cases of nomination papers petitions and rejected the appeals raised by MQM leaders Rauf Saddique and Khizar Asghar Zaidi and accepted the nomination papers of PPP Palwasha Khan and MQM Dr Shahab Imam, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sindh High Court Justice Agha Faisal heard the appeals of both MQM candidates against ‘rejecting’ their nomination papers leaders. The leaders challenged the returning officer's decision in the tribunal. However, in the appeal both nomination papers were rejected again.
The TV channel termed the rejection of nomination papers of Rauf Saddique as a major blow for MQM.
On the other hand, the ECP tribunal heard an appeal against PPP Senate candidate Palwasha Khan who shifted her vote from Punjab to Karachi.
It was alleged that she shifted her vote ‘overnight’ and the transfer of appeal vote is a violation of Articles 220 and 226 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
“Palwasha Khan is not a resident of Karachi,” Advocate Kamran Baloch pleaded that Palwasha Jan nomination papers should not be accepted but Election Tribunal rejected his appeal and granted permission to Palwasha Khan.
