Mufti Abdul Qavi stripped of ‘Mufti’ title after Hareem Shah video

The family of Mufti Abdul Qavi, whose video went viral the other day in which TikToker Hareem Shah slapped him with a shoe, has withdrawn the title of “Mufti” from him, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a news conference in Multan on Friday, Abdul Qavi’s uncle Abdul Wahid Nadeem said “The reputation of their family has been tarnished and that is why they are withdrawing the title “Mufti” from Abdul Qavi. Please do not call him Mufti in the future.”
He said “We are a respectable family. We have imparted education to thousands of people. We serve the society without indulging in sects.”
He said “We have taken back mobile phones from Abdul Qavi. He is undergoing treatment as he is mentally not fit. He wanted to be famous but he could not see the conspiracy of others.”
The other day, Pakistani TikTok star Hareem Shah shared a video of slapping Abdul Qavi which went viral on the social media.

Talking to 24NewsHD TV channel then, Hareem Shah explained the reasons behind this video. She said that she hosted a dinner for Mufti Qavi. Later, she met Mufti Qavi along with her cousin Ayesha, she added. She said she beat Mufti Qavi with a shoe as he passed inappropriate remarks during the meeting in hotel room in Karachi. She said Mufti also misbehaved with Ayesha on which she slapped her. She said that both of us left the hotel after the incident.
