The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) under the supervision of its Director General caught a truck carrying 13,000litres oil extracted from filths at Babu Sabu Interchange on Friday.
Director General PFA Rafaqat Ali Nissoana said that truck was caught by PFA team carrying a huge amount of 13,000litres after placing pickets for eight hours. The truck was carrying from Gujranwala to Lahore with a load of hazardous oil.
He said that hazardous extracted oil was to be sold after the addition of used oil in it. The oil extracted from the filth of dead animal is very white, so it is dissolved in substandard and cheap oil to make it look like new.
He added that extracted oil is only allowed to be used to make bio-diesel. The foes who cheat in food business deserve serious punishment. Compromised food quality will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
