When we embarked on our visit to Chengdu, little did we know that we would uncover hidden gems like the Tinjiang River and the picturesque Zhanqi Village. Our journey took us alongside the Tinjiang River, where we were accompanied by the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), CIPCC, and Global Times Online.

Tinjiang River welcomed us with its enchanting beauty, featuring a serene park and a captivating water lock. CCCC, particularly its subsidiary, China Communications Construction Company Tianjin Dredging Co., Ltd, played a pivotal role in developing this smart water-themed urban oasis. What's fascinating is how this smart water locale seamlessly integrates with Chengdu's smart water centre, demonstrating the city's commitment to technological advancement and environmental preservation.

Our next stop was Zhanqi Village in the Pidu District, nestled within Tangchang Town. This district spans 5.36 square kilometres and is home to approximately 4,500 residents. Zhanqi Village holds a special status as a star village nationwide, standing as one of the first 29 rural governance examples in China. Its 4A-level scenic village boasts charming residences adorned with white and grey tiles, presenting a clean and welcoming atmosphere.

What truly touched our hearts was the warm hospitality of the local people. We had the privilege of meeting some elderly citizens of the village who shared their affection for Pakistan with us. We received their blessings and captured cherished moments through photographs.

Our exploration continued as we ventured into the village's famous market. Here, one can find a variety of organic products, including the renowned spicy sauces for which the region is celebrated. The traditional methods used in crafting these sauces have made Zhanqi Village a culinary treasure in Sichuan Province. We even had the pleasure of witnessing a local artisan perfecting the art of making spicy sauce and soybean products.

During our visit, the director of CCCC enlightened us about the purpose behind such transformative projects. He assured us that initiatives like these would continue to thrive, benefitting both the villagers and the environment. To keep the villagers informed, a network of speakers installed on every pole broadcasts announcements and updates, fostering a sense of community among the residents and farmers.

Our visit to Tinjiang River and Zhanqi Village left us with a profound appreciation for the harmonious blend of nature, culture, and innovation in Chengdu. These experiences reminded us that the beauty of travel lies not only in the destinations we explore but also in the connections we make with the people and places along the way.
