Fast bowler Haris Rauf has been declared fit to play in the forthcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup to be held in India from next month, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Rauf had recently suffered a rib injury, causing concern about his participation in the global event.

Haris Rauf's eligibility to rejoin the squad came after a thorough health check by the appointed medical panel. They closely evaluated his fitness level and assessed his bowling, finally giving a nod of approval. This means Rauf is all set to represent the nation in the much-anticipated cricket competition.

While the situation looks promising for Rauf, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is also keeping a close watch on Naseem Shah. Shah is currently navigating an injury, and his status remains under observation.

Just last week, Haris Rauf's injury became a talking point when he missed the electrifying game against India, a traditional rival. The PCB confirmed Rauf's non-participation, attributing it directly to his injury.

An official statement from the board highlighted that he was unfit to play the said match. Taking a careful stance, the team management decided against letting Rauf play, emphasising their focus on the player's health and long-term career prospects.

They underlined that Rauf's comfort and well-being were important, and playing him would have been a needless risk.
