Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat could not attend PTI's much-anticipated Lahore rally due to health concerns, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
In a statement released to the media, he had excused himself from attending the rally due to his health issues.
Marwat explained that while he had felt better during the previous day, his fever returned in the evening, this time more severe than before.
He mentioned that he had been discharged from the hospital, and although he had hoped to join the Lahore rally, his current weakness made it unlikely for him to travel to the event.
Expressing his regrets, Marwat said, "I was looking forward to participating in the Lahore rally, but the weakness is too much.
In these circumstances, I may not be able to travel to Lahore. However, I am hopeful that the people of Lahore and Punjab will turn out in full force to support Imran Khan."
Marwat also offered prayers for strength for the people of Pakistan, adding, "May Allah give the Pakistanis courage."
It has been reported that Marwat tested positive for COVID-19 two days ago and had informed the PTI leadership about his condition.
He had stated earlier that initial tests confirmed his infection, leading to his hospitalisation.
