Pakistan to host high-level meeting on Global Health Security Agenda

Pakistan will host a high-level meeting on Global Health Security Agenda, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Leading experts on the issue and all the stakeholders will attend the event.
This was disclosed at a meeting between UK Health Global Security’s chief executive officer and Caretaker Federal Minister for Health Dr. Nadeem Jan.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that funds had been provided for the Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) project introduced in Pakistan until 2024.
Ministry of Health officials, on the other hand, have said that the IDSR recurrent system will be handed over to Pakistan.
They have further said that the UK’s Health Security Agency (HSA) is ready to assist the government of Pakistan in its new projects.
The officials have informed that the IDSR system will initially be introduced in 134 districts of Pakistan in collaboration with the UK’s HSA, while later it will be extended to all districts of the country in the next two to three months.
They have further said that the HSA is also assisting in the introduction and development of electronic lab system in the country.
The health ministry officials have also told that the government plans to build an Emergency Operation Center of Excellence at the National Institute of Health (NIH).
