A woman beat up her daughter-in-law and shaved off her head along with her son at Quetta’s Eastern Bypass on Saturday for stepping out of the home without permission, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to reports, a resident of Muslim Town had prohibited his wife from going outside. But when she did, he and his mother tortured her and shaved off her head in punishment.
Police arrested three people, including the victim’s mother-in-law and registered a case against them.
Pakistani society is full of such stories where women, in the end, suffer the most.
In a similar kind of incident in March 2020, the sons of a Sindhi landlord had beaten up a woman and shaved her head before setting her house on fire in Thorhi Bijar village, Qambar-Shahdadkot district.
The incident reportedly took place in the jurisdiction of Drigh police after a petty dispute over a pigeon flying competition.
According to the police, two teenagers - one the son of a poor farmer and the other the son of a landlord - brawled over the contest. The enraged sons and nephews of the landlord, Fazal Muhammad, beat up the farmer's wife, who had tried to intervene.
The woman, Kamalan, had told the media that around six or seven men barged into her house to take money from her son. "When I stood up, they beat me black and blue and shaved my head to teach my family a lesson," she stated. "Leaving the house, they set it on fire too."
