Former deputy chairman senate and Pakistan People’s Party leader Salim Mandviwala has said that Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani and parliament are under pressure to summon National Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice ® Javed Iqbal to the upper house expressing his apprehension that the economy will sink if the government reappoints the anti-graft body chief, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to the media after attending his court hearing on Wednesday, Mr Mandviwala spewed his anger against the NAB chairman, asking government bodies to stop intimidating the business people.

He suggested to Prime Minister Imran Khan to appoint NAB chairman as country’s finance minister. He said NAB chief sat on TV and delivered hours-long lectures. ‘The practice of harassing business people should come to an end,’ he added.

Mandviwala said that Chairman Senate Sanjrani was under pressure on the demand of NAB chairman’s summoning in the upper house. He said Mr Sanjrani did not want to summon Justice ® Iqbal to the senate adding that parliament was under pressure on this demand.

The former deputy chairman senate lamented that after making rounds of accountability court again and again, he was eventually indicted.

Mr Mandviwala said he wanted to summon NAB boss as a witness in this reference. He vowed to bring Justice ® Iqbal in the same court.
