The Sindh Government Children's Hospital in North Nazimabad, Karachi has shut down due to a lack of funds, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Sunday.
According to the channel report, the hospital, which has 100 beds, has over 300 employees who have been working without pay for the past five months.
The closure of the hospital raises concerns about the potential deterioration of millions of rupees worth of advanced machinery received from Japan.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the hospital Dr Muhammad Tufail stated that the hospital will continue to face issues until the government provides the necessary funds.
The hospital employees demanded the Sindh government pay their salaries immediately.
