Anam Khan wasn’t supposed to fly to Karachi in the ill-fated PIA plane that crashed in Karachi, but she had to because of the sudden last minute change in duty roaster as she replaced Madiha Iram. At the end, she was among the 97 people reported dead in the incident.

Anam was my son, not daughter, said her father Masood Khan, reported City42.

“Whenever I was ill or her mother was ill, she looked after them like sons, ensured our treatment. She also looked after her younger brother and two little sisters,” the bereaved father added.

But her mother isn’t yet ready to accept that her daughter is dead, saying she was confident that Anam would return home.

“My daughter is injured. I am confident that she will return,” she told 24NewsHD TV channel.

Last week, Anam had got her flight to the US cancelled as she wanted to celebrate Eid in Pakistan, the mother added.

Everyone at Anam’s house located in the Dharampura area of Lahore isheartbroken as the family members are shocked by this devastating news. Her brother Hamza says he still awaiting her phone call.

According to Masood, her daughter had left the house on Friday in a happy mood, saying she would return by evening.

“She supported the entire family. We are left helpless after her death,” Masood said, as people are arriving at their home to offer their condolences.
