FM Bilawal to attend WEF’s Annual Meeting at Davos today

On the invitation of World Economic Forum (WEF) president, Foreign Minister (FM) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will attend the Annual Meeting of the Forum, which is due to begin in Davos, Switzerland from today (Monday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel
This year the Forum is being organized under the theme, "History at a Turning Point: Government Policies and Business Strategies".
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar will also accompany the FM on the tour.
Both the foreign minister and the minister of state will participate in a number of events during their visit.
Foreign Minister Bilal will share with the audience Pakistan's viewpoint on the economic and social impact of the evolving geopolitical developments as well as the challenges arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic, food and energy security, and climate change.
The foreign minister will also meet his counterparts from other countries during the event besides interacting with the media.
The World Economic Forum brings together political and business leaders as well as representatives of international organizations, civil society and youth from across the world every year to discuss economic, social and environmental challenges.
Minister for Climate Change Senator Sherry Rehman will also attend a number of World Economic Forum events on climate change and its impacts on the global community and Pakistan.
The phenomenon of climate change is an important agenda, and is also extremely significant in view of the prevailing heatwave condition in the country.
Nearly 2,500 people belonging to different professions, including politics, business and media will attend the forum.
