Lahore with 313 AQI again tops list of world’s most-polluted cities

Lahore continues to remain in the grip of smog as with the air quality index (AQI) recorded at 313, it was ranked as the third most polluted city in the world, while the most-polluted city in the country on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The AQI over the US consulate was recorded at 503, 308 over The Mall, 344 over Phase-8, Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and 313 over Johar Town. 

Doctors advised people to avoid travelling unnecessarily so that they could keep themselves safe from smog.  

At the same time, temperatures are dropping in the provincial capital and other parts of Punjab with each passing day.

The weather department, on the other hand, predicted dry weather for the city during the next 24 hours.

It forecast that maximum temperature in the city would be recorded at 26 degrees Celsius while it would be 13 degrees Celsius on the minimum side during the next 24 hours.

It further said that the weather would remain cloudy in the city on Saturday and Sunday.
