The SHO of Delhi Gate police station in Multan who had been arrested in connection with offering bribe to a DSP will be presented in a court today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

DSP Muhammad Imran of the same police station, in his complaint to the police registered under sections 155, 161, 163 and 165, had alleged that SHO Wasim Akram came to his room and handed him an envelope, carrying 14 notes of Rs5, 000, as a bribe so that less harsh sections could be inserted in the case registered against suspects Muhammad Imran and Shehbaz.

The DSP further alleged that the SHO had received Rs250,000 in bribe from the suspects and offered him Rs70, 000 in lieu of making a weak case against them. “Hence SHO Wasim, a government servant, is guilty of misusing his powers,” DSP Imran had argued.
