Former Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Ahad Cheema has decided to resign from the government service, 24News HD TV Channel reported on Sunday.
According to the sources, Grade 20 Officer Ahad Cheema has made the decision because of the treatment he has received in the last three years from the Imran led government.
The sources said that Ahad Cheema is the first Grade 20 officer to serve 3 years in prison on different charges like assets beyond the income, Ashiyana Housing Scheme and LDA City housing scheme.
He has been arrested in several cases during the last three years but nothing has been proved against him. Female family members of Ahad Cheema were also allegedly harassed.
Ahad Cheema has the credit for completing the Metro Bus Service and Orange Line Metro Train projects in the last era of PML-N and has also been active in the construction of private power plants in Punjab.
It should be noted that NAB had arrested Ahad Cheema on February 21, 2018, but he was released on bail from the Lahore High Court in April last year after finding no evidence.
According to a document available to 24News HD TV Channel, after the arrest of Ahad Cheema, the Establishment Division had suspended him, later acquitted him of the charges levelled in the inquiry and promoted him to Grade 20.
