Peshawar Zalmi Thursday won the toss and elected to bowl first against Lahore Qalandars in the 14th fixture the Pakistan Super League Season 10 at the Gaddafi Stadium.
Qalandars — the two-time champions — made two changes to their lineup as Asif Ali and Mohammad Azab replace Mohammad Naeem and Zaman Khan, while Zalmi were unchanged.
Qalandars and Zalmi have thus far faced each other in 19 matches with the latter boasting a dominant record with 11 victories, compared to two-time champions’ eight.
Zalmi and Qalandars boast contrasting momentums heading into the match as the hosts are third in the PSL 10 standings with four points in four matches, while Zalmi have only one victory in their four matches played thus far.
Peshawar Zalmi lost against Gladiators, United and Kings but won against Sultans. On paper they look very strong in the likings of Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Mohammad Haris and Tom-Kohler Cadmore but they failed to produce positive results. Their top order have to perform today against Qalandars to produce positive result.
Qalandars lost their opening game against United, came back strongly with back to back victories against Gladiators and Kings but failed to impress against Sultans in their last game. They definitely want to win today's game in front of their home crowd and jump up to 2nd place at points table.
