Quetta Gladiators defeated Peshawar Zalmi by a massive margin of 80 runs in a one-sided match of PSL X  played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

After setting a mammoth target of 217, Quetta’s bowling squad dismantled Peshawar’s batting line-up in just 15.1 overs, bowling them out for 136.

Chasing the target, Peshawar Zalmi struggled from the outset.

Zalmi captain Babar Azam was dismissed for a duck by veteran pacer Mohammad Amir, dealing an early blow to the chase.

The woes continued as Mohammad Haris managed only 13 runs, while Tom Kohler-Cadmore was sent back to the pavilion without scoring.

Despite a valiant half-century from Saim Ayub, who scored 50 runs, and a supportive 35-run contribution from Hussain Talat, no other Zalmi batsman managed to make a significant impact.

Quetta’s bowlers, led by Abrar Ahmed, rattled the Zalmi batting order. Abrar picked up four wickets in a sensational spell, while Mohammad Amir and Usman Tariq chipped in with two wickets each, sealing the emphatic win.

Earlier, Saud Shakeel and Finn Allen's fifties powered Quetta Gladiators to set a competitive 217-run target for Peshawar Zalmi.

Saud Shakeel played a composed yet aggressive knock of 59 runs. His innings was complemented by the hard-hitting Finn Allen, who contributed a brisk 53.

Young batter Hassan Nawaz added valuable runs in the middle overs, smashing 41 runs off just 32 balls before being dismissed.

Meanwhile, experienced campaigners Rilee Rossouw and Kusal Mendis provided a strong finish to the innings.

Rossouw remained unbeaten on 21, while Mendis stayed not out on 35, guiding Quetta past the 200-run mark without further damage.

Peshawar Zalmi bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs on the flat Rawalpindi pitch.

Among the wickets, Ali Raza, Alzarri Joseph, and Sufiyan Muqeem managed to pick up one wicket each.

Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi have won the toss and elected to bowl first in the second PSL X match against the Quetta Gladiators being played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
