Chairman City News Network Afzal Naqvi laid to rest in Nowshera Virkan

The funeral prayers of Chairman City News Network Syed Afzal Hussain Naqvi were offered at Model Town in Lahore on Tuesday and he was laid to rest in Nowshera Virkan after noon, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The Namaz-i-Janaza of the deceased in Lahore was led by Maulana Ghulam Shabbir Najafi which was offered at 10 am at 37-D Model Town.

Later, the body was taken to Nowshera Virkan where a large number of notables and local people also attended the Namaz-i-Janaza. Later, Afzal Naqvi was buried in his ancestral village of Lail Virkan.

Zardari, Nawaz condole

Former president and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and former prime minister and PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif have expressed heartfelt condolences over the sad demise of Syed Afzal Hussain Naqvi. In their phone calls to the family members, Zardari and Nawaz offered condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty Allah rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give them courage and patience to bear the loss.

Earlier, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed deep sorrow over the death Afzal Hussain Naqvi. Bilawal said that the sudden demise of Afzal Naqvi was shocking as he was a universal personality.

“He was also active in educational and welfare activities apart from a successful businessman. People like Afzal Naqvi are an asset of the country and his absence will be felt,” said Bilawal.

PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujat Hussain and Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez Elahi expressed grief and sorrow on the death of Syed Afzal Naqvi and condoled with the family from the deep heart.

Punjab Governor Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Moonis Elahi, Salik Hussain, Shafay Hussain and other politicians also expressed their grief and sorrow.

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Shahbaz Sharif and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) patron Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed grief over the death of City News Network Chairman Syed Afzal Naqvi and prayed for the high ranks of the deceased soul.
