One-man tribunal to hold inquiry into Bahawalpur varsity scandal

The Punjab Home Department has set up a one-man tribunal headed by Justice Sardar Sarfaraz Dogar on the issue of the Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

According to the notification issued by the Home Department, the tribunal will hold an inquiry into blackmailing, drug abuse and sexual harassment of female students at the IUB.

It is to be noted here that the IUB has been under probe after a special report by police about the alleged sale of drugs and sexual exploitation of female students and teachers. The police based their claim on sexually explicit videos found on the mobile phones of the university staff.
