Keel laying and steel cutting ceremonies held at Karachi shipyard

A keel laying ceremony of the first Hangor class submarine that was built in Pakistan and the steel cutting ceremony of the second submarine were held at the Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works, reported 24NewSHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to the Pak Navy spokesperson, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi was the chief guest of the ceremony.
Hangor class submarines are equipped with the advanced weapons and technology.
Speaking on the occasion, the Navy Chief said that the induction of submarines will further strengthen the maritime defense capabilities of the Pakistan Navy, adding that the construction of Hangor class submarines will boost local shipbuilding industry and self-reliance.
Chief of Pakistan Navy also lauded the professionalism of Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works.
