10 kg tumor mass removed from woman’s uterus in NW

The doctors have performed a successful operation and removed two fibroids, weighing 10 kg in all from a woman’s uterus in the Type-C hospital of North Waziristan’s sub-division Mir Ali, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Friday.


According to surgeon Dr. Hameedullah Dawar, the patient was brought in the hospital with severe stomach pain. After the investigation, it was found she had tumors in her uterus and stomach.


He said that despite of acute shortage of basic facilities in the hospital, his team performed a successful surgical procedure and removes two pieces of tumors weighing 7 kg and 3 kg respectively.


He said that the patient’s uterus also been removed in order to avoid any complications in future.


Surgeon Dr. Hameedullah said his team including anesthetic Dr. Noor Khan, technician Qadirullah and technical staff made the difficult operation successful in a limited resource, for which they and the hospital administration are grateful to Allah Almighty.
