The third spell of monsoon has lashed Sindh, causing different areas of Karachi to receive light and heavy rain, and turning the weather in the provincial capital pleasant, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday. The story was no different in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where dozens of houses were destroyed or damaged in the heavy mon soon rains.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain with thundershower is likely in different areas of Karachi till noon. Besides, the third spell of monsoon has raised the risk of flooding.

It is learnt that areas including FB Area, North Nazimabad, Gulistan-e-Johar, Malir and Model Colony have received intermittent rain on Sunday.

The wind, that blows from the south of the city, has the speed of 5 nautical miles per hour.

The current temperature in the city is 28 degrees Celsius, whereas, the minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius.

The humidity ratio in the air is 92 per cent.

Besides, rain is expected in other areas of Sindh including Mithi, Thattha and Badin.

On the other hand, rain continues at Islamkot in Tharparkar district since last evening. At 213 mm rain has been recorded so far.

It has rained in Hyderabad and Matiari too, and a state of emergency has been imposed in Hyderabad after the yesterday’s heavy rain.

The Meteorological Department has forecasted more rains in the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah visited different areas of Karachi and inspected the drainage system.

PPP ministers – Sharjeel Memon and Nasir Hussain Shah, and Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab accompanied the chief minister.

Moreover, there is also a forecast of rain in areas of Punjab, Balochistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Dozens of Dadu villages submerged

The water level has increased to an alarming level in the streams and nullahs of Kachho area of Dadu district due to heavy rains in the Kirthar mountain range, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

It is learnt that the water level in Nai Gaj dam is 17 feet, and dozens of villages including Haji Khan, Shah Jo Dhoro and Sawro have come under water.

The residents of the area have started to relocate on a self-help basis as no administrative action was taken by the government for their relief.

The overflow of water has also cut over 50 villages off from Johi and Dadu cities.

Besides, there is also information about the collapse of houses in Chhanni Shah Hassan.

On the other hand, Hub and surrounding areas have received intermittent rain.

The rain beat the heat and turned the weather pleasant.

One dead, two injured amid torrential rains in KP

A man died and two others were injured during the last 24 hours amid torrential rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), more than 20 houses in the province were partially damaged, whereas, 14 were completely destroyed.

Besides, traffic was stuck due to flooding in nullahs in different areas of Chitral.
