The first phase of the Lahore Police's investigation into the founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has been completed reported 24NewsHD TV channel Tuesday.
Initially, the PTI chairman refused to answer various questions posed by the police, expressing a lack of trust in the authorities.
During the investigation at Adiala Jail, the head of the investigation team, DSP Javed Asif, assured the PTI chairman of fair treatment. Following this assurance, the PTI chairman agreed to answer the police's questions for 15 minutes.
However, the PTI chairman refused to undergo three forensic tests proposed by the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) experts, stating that he was already under investigation by multiple agencies and was unwilling to conduct any tests at that moment. He assured the PFSA team that he would schedule a later time for these tests.
The PFSA team had planned to conduct polygraph, voice matching, and photogrammetry tests. Following the completion of this initial phase, the Lahore Police investigation team, led by DSP Javed Asif, left Adiala Jail. This development comes after the PTI chairman's initial refusal to cooperate with the investigation team the previous day.
